Meet Elaine ’19
When Elaine Estes ’19 enrolled at Saint Joseph’s University, she had a clear goal in mind: to become a Spanish teacher. And her chosen path of study — majoring in both Spanish and secondary education — would help her achieve that goal.
When you meet the other Hawks on Saint Joseph’s campus, you realize Elaine is not an outlier. She is one of countless students soaring high, achieving success and ready for whatever the future holds. Just like Elaine, many students at Saint Joseph’s University customize their education to their interests in life and in their careers. In fact, 63% of the class of 2020 added a double major and/or minor to their degree, choosing from more than 100 academic programs.
At Saint Joseph’s, we know college experiences off-campus are just as important as those in the classroom. Elaine gained important, relevant experience in her field doing what she loves during her student-teacher experience at a bilingual school in North Philadelphia. Now, Elaine works as a full-time educator, serving her community and preparing her students for a bright future.
At Saint Joseph's University, you’ll be encouraged to find success and fulfillment in life and in your career. We encourage a lifelong pursuit of learning that encourages students to uncover their passions, interests and roles that add up to the greatest version of themselves.
