Outcomes & Success

Saint Joseph's University prepares students with the skills, confidence and knowledge to find success in the career fields of their choice. Year after year, an average of 97% of our students graduate and go on to their first job, graduate school or a military or service volunteer position. Experiential learning opportunities such as internships, co-ops and research projects help you gain a better understanding of your intended career field while adding skills and credentials to your resume.

The Career Center is a lifelong resource for our students and alumni. The professional staff offer counseling, career advising and networking events with the Alumni Association, connecting students to a network of more than 110,000 alumni.

So we're really proud of our students, 97% of whom find some sort of post-graduate experience, whether that's a full-time job, service experience, military, or going into graduate school. So they are able to present themselves to employers in such a way that they compete in that environment. About 88% of our students engage in some form of experiential learning, co-op, internships, summer jobs, Summer Scholars, service learning, that sort of thing. The advantages are they actually apply what they're learning in the classroom and they build skills.

The Career Development Center on St. Joe's campus has numerous resources for finding jobs and internships, both on campus and off campus. The Career Development Center has helped me edit my resume, edit my cover letter, and my portfolio.

The Alumni Association is made up of alums who are interested in giving back to the university, in terms of their time and their talent. Alumni are resources for students in terms of mentoring. Many students don't have that social network. They don't come to campus with a social network. And so, alumni help them develop that and mentor them along the way. They just support us in pretty much all networking activity.
